Before Time Was.....
Before time was, there was The One: The One was all, and all was The One.
And the vast expanse known as the universe was The One, all-wise, all-pervading, all-powerful, eternally changing.
And space moved. The One molded energy into twin forms, equal but opposite, fashioning the Goddess and God from The One and of The One.
So They formed energy into gasses and gassed into suns and planets and moons; They sprinkled the universe with whirling globes and so all was given shape by the hand of the Goddess and God.
Light arose and the sky was illuminated by a billion suns. And the Goddess and God, satisfied by their works, rejoiced and loved, and were One.
From their union sprang the seeds of all life, and of the human race, so that we might achieve incarnation upon the Earth.
The Goddess chose the Moon as Her symbol, and the God the Sun as His symbol, to remind the inhabitants of Earth of their fashioners.
All are born, live, die, and are reborn beneath the Sun and Moon; all things come to pass thereunder, and all occurs with the blessings of The One, as has been the way of existence before time was.

Stones And Gems
There are a few things that you should remember when working with stones and gems. All gems and stones should be cleansed and empowered. note: empowered simply means to instill some of your own energy into the stone. This means sit with it in your hand and envision what you wish from the stone or what you will use the stone for at some point.
To cleanse the stone it is best to either place the stone in a stream of natural water from a lake or simply hold them under a faucet. Moonlight and sunlight are the best cleansers.
Wear gems and stones as close to the body as possible. Place them in a pocket or wear them on a string around your neck close to your heart. Always remember the size of the stone is not important.
Gems and stones can also be placed on magickal tools, as well, with glue or wire. Some beautiful pieces can be made such as goblets, Tarot boxes, wands, baskets, and herb containers.
Below is a list of Stones, Minerals and Gems for you to reference.

Watchtowers
Watchtowers or Guardians are protectors of people. When we are born into a life we are given watchtowers to assist and protect us throughout our lifetime.
Not all people have the same type of watchtowers, an example of this would be my
watchtowers are Egyptian Women but someone else may have animals as their
watchtowers. Your watchtowers represent the four quarters; North, South, East
and West.
They are called upon many times within magick, they keep out un-wanted spirits.
You may also call upon them if you feel threatened or scared and ask for their
protection. Always remember when you call on them you must send them back.
Below I have given you my watchtower call, I use this sometimes at night when
I feel the need of protection.
Learn to work with you watchtowers. I learned this the hard way see my short story
below.
WATCHTOWER CALL
Watchtowers North, South, East and West watch over me this night
while i'm at rest;
When the morning comes and the sun begins to show,
It is at that time my watchtowers that you may go.

Magickal Names
In many cultures, people were not named until adulthood. Giving a child a "false name" to protect them from bad spirits until one was chosen (or self-chosen) for them in adulthood. In other societies the mother would be the only person who would know the child's real name. This all comes from the concept that a person's true name has power, and knowing that name can give others and bad spirits power over them. Names also are our prime identification with the world. Most of us did not choose our name. Many people for various reasons change their given name (officially or unofficially) to something they find more appropriate or more descriptive of themselves. Being to name ourselves gives us a certain power over our identity. Being able to select the right name announces a comfort and a knowledge of our own selves.
Choosing a magical name (or Craft name) is based on the above premises. It is an announcement of dedication to the Path, a magical switch and protection, and searching for the right name means knowing and searching the self. Some people choose to keep their magical name secret from all but the closest coveners or associates, while others use their magical names with all pagans or in daily life. What you reveal depends on how much power you think you name holds. You may find that your "legal" name serves you. If your name does not come to you, try meditations, prayer, divination or even looking at various names of animals, god/desses and trees. Don't worry, it may take you a very long while to find your name. Just keep looking and it will come. Once you know your name, I suggest having a naming ritual (can also be done during dedication/initiation rituals) to announce your new name to the God/desses. Use your new name during all your ritual Work.

Altar Tools
Your altar and tools are very important and should be assembled with care and consideration. While some may spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars setting it all up, it would be just as effective to use a dixie cup for the chalice, an empty tin can as the cauldron and a pencil for the wand. The one most important tool in magic is you and your heart! If you looked at fifty different altars you would probably find no two the same. This is a summary of what most would consider the basics.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Altar
The altar is simply a table, shelf or other flat surface to place your basic tools on. It doesn't have to be anything
fancy but then again, you can make it as elaborate as you wish. This is your place to do your work. Make it comfortable for you!
Athame
A double sided knife or "dagger". There is no reason for this tool to be sharp because in will never be used for cutting. It is used to direct energy. Traditionally the athame will have a black handle.
Bolline
Similar to your athame but with a sharp cutting edge and commonly with a white handle. This tool will be used for cutting various things in different rituals, gathering herbs, etc.
Censer
An incense burner or holder.
Chalice
A long stemmed glass or goblet. It can be glass, pottery, wood or metal. The chalice is used for wine (or other beverages) during ritual.
Cauldron
Generally a metal pot with three legs and a handle. The cauldron represents the womb of the Goddess and has many uses on the altar. Mixing herbs and liquids, holding small fires or burning objects are just a couple of the many examples depending on the owners particular rituals, spells and preferences.
Pentacle
Placed on the center of the altar the pentacle is a disc on which a pentagram is carved, painted or engraved. It will be found in many forms. It could be molded from metal, carved in wood or painted on tile. It will usually be heat proof and is often used for purification and empowering of various objects.
Wand
This is another tool that comes in many forms. They vary from a few inches to a foot or more in length and made from various materials. This is a very personal item and is often handmade from the branch of a tree or bush. Decorated to please the owner they will often have a gem or stone of significance attached to the end. Many witches will have several that are used for different types of work. It is often used to somewhat like a "conductors baton" to invoke the Deities and can also be used to direct energy just as the athame.
Staff
This staff is used just as the wand. They are generally as near in length as the height of it's owner and just as the wand, can be carved and/or decorated to your personal taste.

Astral Projection
In astral projection the astral body leaves the physical. The astral body is one of seven bodies we all have - as we are all multi-dimensional. These bodies include the physical, mental, causal, etheric, emotional, spiritual.
What some have found is that some people can astral project naturally - and have been doing it for years. Other people are afraid to leave the physical body and struggle with it never being able to astral project.
In astral projection you remain attached by a silver "umbilical type" cord to your physical body - though you may not see it. You travel out and are aware of things you encounter along the way.
To astral project, as with all out-of-body experiences one must feel totally relaxed, clothing fitting comfortable, reclining is best. Often some thing warm is best over the body as the physical body sometimes gets cold when you travel out.
A lot of people prefer to do it in bed and it is safe to do. It is possible to astral travel while you are wide open, some people do this a lot, others can travel anywhere in the known universe and Unknown universe.
Astral travel is like a deep state of meditation and is similar to a dream state a lot of people can actually astral travel but do not know they have done it because they are too caught up in the problems of life and they do not recall the memories. These memories are buried deep in their heads.
A few ways to improve your chances of astral traveling is recommend. Trying meditation till you feel completely comfortable with the idea of running around with no body, which, it should become a big step for you , if you haven't done it yet.

Meditation
Mediatation is done in many different ways. I do not believe that there is only one way to meditate.
I can share with you the way I was taught, this worked
for me. Feel free to change this up to make it easy
for you.
If you are new to meditation let me point out that this
is one of the most important elements in practicing
witchcraft successfully.
Step One:
First, you must be able to concentrate. When meditating
you must be somewhere quiet with as little distractions as
possible. Do not get too comfortable because it will be easy
to fall asleep. A Chair is good, I personally like the bath tub
because it helps to relax you.
* Start by learning to relax your body and clear your mind. This
may take a few tries but you will get it. Imagine all of your thoughts
draining out of your body starting with the top of your head and
working its way down to your feet, at that point let it flow out of
you like a faucet.
Step Two:
When you have learned to relax your body and free your thoughts,
it is time for step two. Get a simple object, I used an egg, it is easy
to visualize. Some people say to use a candle's flame I feel that this
is difficult for beginners because it constantly changes shape & is
hard to visualize. Look at the object you are holding, close your eyes
and keep the image in your thoughts, see it as if your eyes were open.
This will take practice, it is easier for some than others. When you are
able to visualize your object for 5 minutes it is time to move to step 3.
Step Three:
I use the rainbow red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo & violet.
I go through a series of doors, the first one being red, the next one
orange and so on. When I reach the final door (violet door) I open it
and I am on the astral at that point. NOTE: Always close the doors
behind you, this is very important. Once you have reached the astral
explore it and enjoy it. If you are looking for someone who has passed
be very careful in asking to see that person. Pagans believe in re-
incarnation so if you ask for the person it could pull that person out of
their new human body, this could be dangerous especially if they are
driving or something similar to that. When you ask be specific, I use
"the echo of that person" that is the spirit that is on the Astral not their
physical body. They will come to you as you remembered them usually.
You may encounter the Gods/Goddesses through mediatation, this is
truely wonderful. If they do not come to you do not be afraid to ask for
them. They will guide you in the direction you need to go.
When you have finished your meditation return to your door. Exit the
doors opposite of how you started (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow,
orange, red) remember my note: always close the doors behind you.
The reason for closing the doors:
When you open the doors you are opening the veil between the earth
and The Astral. Astral spirits need to remain on the astral, you leave
the doors open you run the risk of bringing something back. Do not
let this scare you but be aware of it. They would come out of curiosity
but they would easily get lost here and that would be sad for them.
I hope this section has been of help to you in your journey.
